What we’ve done and what’s going on

The OHV prevention and awareness campaign aims to promote better behaviours while operating OHVs and to improve safety in our communities. Many activities, workshops and communication tools are being developed for the region and to answer the concerns of Nunavimmiut about safety. See what has already been done and join in creating the campaign’s other communication tools. Watch for activities and events in Nunavik. It may be happening in your community!

International Snowmobile Safety Week Is Just Around the Corner
Stay On the Right Path! From January 17 to 25, 2015, snowmobile manufacturers, the Québec government and provincial snowmobile associations will be working together to promote snowmobile safety and responsible operating practices. The Kativik Regional Government will take part in the week-long event through the On the Right Path prevention and awareness campaign for off-highway vehicle (OHV) safety!

Many activities, such as information sessions as well as a regional contest, are being planned during the week to promote OHV safety. Nunavimmiut are invited to submit pictures of themselves wearing protective gear, displaying the On the Right Path campaign logo, or with the word “Safety”. On the Right Path stickers will also be available at municipal offices in every community and at local high schools in Nunavik. On January 29, five winners picked from among all the photos submitted to the contest will receive a warm pair of brand-new snowmobile gloves ($89.99 value).

Drive Safely and Stay On the Right Path!

The contest is open to Nunavik residents aged 13 and older. How do you enter? It’s easy!

1- Take a selfie (a photo of yourself) promoting safety. You could be wearing a helmet or an OHV t-shirt with the On the Right Path logo, standing next to an On the Right Path safety campaign poster, or simply holding your very own safety message.
2- Submit your photo to us at our Facebook page On the Right Path Nunavik, on our website www.ontherightpathnunavik.ca or at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

Photo entries may be submitted from now until January 28, 2015, at midnight. A draw will be conducted on January 29 from among all the entries received. If your photo is one of the five drawn, you will be contacted to choose the size and colour of your new pair of snowmobile gloves, which will be delivered to your community. All photo entries received will be posted in the photo gallery on the On the Right Path website and may be posted on our Facebook page. See contest rules here.

Good luck!
